To our Fords families:
I hope everyone is adjusting to this “new normal” and taking the opportunity to enjoy time with your family. I remain hopeful that the efforts we are all making will allow our players to have a full 2020-2021 hockey season. In preparation for this, our Board has put together a short survey that every family will be receiving shortly via email. Please take the five minutes to fill out the survey, this will give us a sense of your concerns given the current situation, as well as an opportunity to share your feedback on the club.
I would like to thank outgoing club President Drew Simcox for his years of service to our players and families, as well as the hockey community. Drew has put in countless hours moving our Club forward and his dedication to our kids will never be forgotten. His ability to bring people together and his positive attitude is a testament to his character.
And a special thanks to Karen Daly for her years of service. Karen always put the players first and was always looking out for their best interests. She truly represented the term “Hockey Mom” for the entire High School.
As our new Board takes over, we will review the bylaws and the current structure of our club. We are also reviewing our tuition costs and the timing of payments. Our goal is to make the tuition process easy and cost-efficient for all families; we are sensitive that some may be facing financial hardship during this pandemic. If you are in such a position and are concerned about tuition, please contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. We have also been working on scheduling evaluations and opening up registration.
We are all anxious to get back to the rink and watch our kids play hockey, be assured the Board takes the safety of our players and families very seriously. We will continue to work with the Skatium, ICHSL, AAHA, and USA Hockey to return to the rink when it is safe to do so. We are currently working on a COVID-19 policy and will post in the coming days.
As a reminder, the Skatium is a township facility. The township will determine when the rink will open. Right now the Skatium is scheduled to open on or about September 1. We also have to make note that if Haverford Township School District is closed, so are all school activities and sports.
I’ve had the opportunity to meet many of you over the years and I look forward to getting to know our new members as well.
Please stay safe and healthy.
